Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) is spreading across the globe as a new way of achieving sustainable development of the world’s seas and oceans.
But what does MSP actually mean? How does it work?
The Sustainable Oceans Lab gathers 30 leaders and change agents from government, business and civil society from 5 continents and 17 countries. Over the course of one year, the lab team met in Germany, Mexico and South Africa. The lab team has developed key initiatives that test new solutions for the sustainable management of our oceans. This video presents the impacts and results of the Sustainable Oceans Lab. Selected participants describe their experiences with the lab, point out the impacts and highlight benefits the lab provides to them.
The Blue Solutions Initiative aims to provide a global platform for successful concepts and practical approaches to ocean and coastal challenges. By looking for existing “Blue Solutions” and good practices, the project has tapped into the extensive knowledge, inspiration and expertise that exists within the global ocean community. To further serve the network of ocean practitioners, experts and solution providers, the Blue Solutions Initiative is now launching its own video interview series.
